SUMMER PROJECTS 2009
The summer is starting off with a bang thanks to the new “super group” called Chickenfoot (Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani, Michael Anthony and Chad Smith). Chickenfoot's first album is due for release on June 5th. On May 17th, I recorded their over-the-top show at The Fillmore for an upcoming DVD. It was a 32 channel ProTools recording via the incredible Millennia HV-3D preamps - Thank you Dave Denny for supplying the gear. You can see my photos of an early recording session at Sam’s studio taken last September (see photo page).

Before I became a recording engineer I played drums in a band called The Rockets. In 1973 we recorded a number of demos for CBS records. In August of 2009 I decided to unearth, remix and master all the songs that had been forgotten about for 36 years. The collection of eight songs is titled Re-entry and is now available both on a CD and as a download. Here's a description of the CD written by our good friend Jon Rubin and a link to The Rockets website where you can hear, see or purchase the CD.

"The Rockets are far more than just an early venue for Eddie Money. They were a quintessential rock band of the 70s. The other members include Santana alumnus Chris Solberg on bass, top recording and mastering engineer John Cuniberti on drums and “rockonteur” Dan Alexander on guitar. Any fan of Eddie or just plain great classic rock music cannot miss this release."
